Beachside destinations weddings are stunningly beautiful, however, a lot of hard work goes into planning. Hopefully, the following tips will help you with the planning process.
- Consider the weather: Beachside weddings are normally done in the heat of the summer and on top of that it might also get very windy. This is important to consider when planning every aspect of your wedding. Specifically, your couple photoshoot can be a challenge to execute with the heat. For the groom, you might want to bring sunglasses or ditch the traditional suit for a short sleeve shirt and don’t forget to bring a change of shirts for the groom in case of sweating. When it comes to your bridal look, you might want to consider your hair style if the wind will kick-in. I choose to have my hairstylist accompanying me for the entire day to touch up my hair as some hairstyles don’t last in the heat and windy weather conditions.
- Pack your wedding day bag in advanced: My wedding bag included: perfume, change of shoes, change of jewellery, change of hair accessories, a second dress, deodorant, make-up, make-up remover, documents you might need etc.
- Photo location: I used the geotag option on instagram to find my dream photo locations: a beautiful beachside hotel. In addition, once again, considering the hot weather on the day of our wedding we decided on a location that is indoors as plan B for the photoshoot. At the end, we did ditched the outdoor location and took our wedding photos at the hotel where we stayed.
- Lists are your best friend: Make sure you’re being organised and make lists of things to-do, things you want to book and what is still left to sort. I bought myself a wedding planner and wrote down my vision first, afterwards I also wrote down potential beachside weddings venues and suppliers. I contacted suppliers and wrote notes for each one to remember the quotes and information before choosing who to go for.
- Talk to your bridesmaids: On your wedding day you won’t be the only one that is excited and nervous- your bridesmaids will too! Therefore, it is important for you to talk to your bridesmaids in advance and be very clear with what help you will need on the day. For example, ask them to not forget to pack your veil and to take as many iPhone photos and videos are they can.
