Athens has always been a popular tourist destination, famous for its ancient tourist attractions such as the Acropolis and Parthenon. However, even though not many of you might know it, Athens is also a great destination for a stylish vacation.
Breathtaking views and pretty cafes might not be synonymous with the name Athens, but they sure exist! All you have to do is to know where to go except for the main tourist attractions. This is why I comprised this list for you containing the most stylish places I’ve found when I visited the city.
Indeed, Athens might surprise you when it comes to its instagram photo opportunities; Even in a destination filled with ancient ruins and historic landmarks, you can still find chic places to take the best instagram photos.
So, if you find yourself visiting Athens or visiting Athens before heading to the greek islands, I hope you’ll find this list helpful.
Here is my stylish guide to Athens:
1) 360 Cocktail Bar
The name itself is pretty much self-explanatory. This cocktail bar has a 360-panorama views of the Old city of Athens. 360-cocktail bar is perfect for social gatherings or a stylish night out.
2) Klepsydra Tavern
Located at the heart of Plaka, Athen’s most stylish neighbourhood, this tavern is simply gorgeous. With some of the most delicious Greek food I’ve ever tasted and a perfect colourful location- Klepsydra tavern is a heaven for instagrammers.
3) H&M Store
I have never seen such a beautiful location for an H&M store before. In my opinion, H&M in Athens should definitely take the title for the world’s most beautiful fashion store.
4) Plaka
As mentioned earlier, Plaka is without a doubt the most picturesque neighbourhood in Athens. Filled with colourful allies, cool graffities, old architecture and cute cafes and taverns with outdoor seating- Plaka is indeed the place to be. Certainly, strolling around the area is an attraction in itself.
5) Little Kook
Little Kook is a tea house like no other. Just one glance at the photo below is enough to understand why; The fairy-tale themed cafe, located in the neighbourhood of Psiri, will transfer you to parallel world of cartoons. As beautiful as it is from the outside, it is also beautifully decorated on the inside. Little Kook is guaranteed to provide an extraordinary experience.
6) A for Athens Rooftop Bar
At top of the A for Athens hotel, there is a gorgeous rooftop bar with the best views in Athens overlooking the ancient roman ruins. Don’t miss the opportunity to sip on a cocktail or drinking coffee on a hot sunny day while enjoying the incredible views.
7) Anafiotika Cafe & Restaurant
This restaurant has outdoor and indoor seating, as well as a rooftop terrace with the most breathtaking views of the city. Not to mention the delicious food at this place. Be sure to not miss the opportunity to enjoy a delicious Greek food at this beautiful location.
