Ever heard of an afternoon-tea the French style? Well, PAUL bakery is a French patisserie that offers a delicious and mouth-dropping afternoon tea with a French twist.
I was invited to celebrate the launch of PAUL’s new bottomless French afternoon tea in their Covent Garden branch in London and it was truly worthwhile. But no, there weren’t ay scones; it is a French bakery, not British, remember?
ABOUT PAUL
PAUL is a French chain bakery that was established in 1889 in Croix, France. Since then, PAUL’s success took off and chains were opened in many different countries, including the UK.
The French bakery is specialising in French pastries such as macarons, croissants, cakes and pain au chocolate, as well as sandwiches, coffee and soups.
AFTERNOON TEA AT PAUL
The set menu consisted of artisan bread sandwiches with a choice of either poulet (chicken), camembert (cucumber), or saumon (salmon). There were also a selection of cakes to choose from: dark chocolate, strawberry or sponge cake. Instead of scones, there was the French substitution: brioche. And, of course, none of it would have been complete without macarons which are my absolute favourite French pastry.
What even better was a free-flowing French bubbles that was not only extremely tasty but it also made the atmosphere more fun and relaxed.
- Thank you PAUL Covent Garden for having me!
This place looks very cozy! The food looks divine, it’s the perfect place to spend your afternoon tea.
