I’ve had the pleasure to stay at Hotel Kong Arthur, a lovely boutique hotel, during my trip to Copenhagen. With a great value for money, comfortable location, cozy atmosphere and friendly and helpful staff- Hotel Kong Arthur is the perfect place to stay in Copenhagen.
ABOUT THE HOTEL
The hotel is a part of Arthur Hotels along with Ibsens hotel. Both of the hotels are small and sustainable boutique hotels located side by side in the heart of Copenhagen. Hotel Kong Arthur resides in a well-preserved building from 1882 that is alongside the inner lakes of Copenhagen.
The hotel is composed of four different buildings that are all forming a small “village” in within, containing three restaurants and a backyard with chill-out areas. The boutique hotel has a total of 155 rooms, the hotel has been renovated in 2007 and is constantly improving its facilities.
Hotel Kong Arthur is guaranteed to make you feel at home away from home with its cozy atmosphere and homey feeling. Providing a peaceful oasis from the busy city life, the hotel offers a relaxed holiday for its guests.
THE DESIGN
The hotel interior is what makes it so unique and charming. It features a modern style decor with a dash of medieval. The spacious lobby has comfortable sofas and seats with floor to ceiling windows that bring in the natural light.
A piano, a bar and a knight shinning armour makes the hotel’s style so special. Whereas, no guest room looks identical to the other.
THE LOCATION
The hotel is located by the inner lakes of Copenhagen and only 200 meters from the nearest train station, Nørreport. The station is only one tube stop away from the main tourist area in Copenhagen, Nyhaven.
The hotel’s area itself does not lack in restaurants and cafes; With the legendary Sticks’n’Sushi restaurant being located right next to the hotel. There’s also a supermarket nearby and a popular food market.
THE ROOM
For me, the most important thing about a hotel room is that it feels like home. Our room at the hotel did not disappoint. It was beautifully designed and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was also spacious with a bath and Scandinavian bathing products.
THE BREAKFAST
If you’re looking for an authentic Scandinavian experience, Hotel Kong Arthur is the place for you. The hotel prides itself with serving fresh Nordic breakfast with local ingredients. Providing good quality organic and sustainable food is the hotel’s philosophy. what makes the breakfast such an authentic local experience is that it is serving the Danish pastry “Tebirkes” and a local fish dish. On top of that, the signature dish is Danish waffles from an old recipe.
THE SPA
The hotel also features an Asian spa called Ni’mat which is Copenhagen’s biggest spa. The spa offers world-class treatments inspired by Asian traditions.
ACTIVITIES
Kong Arthur Hotel has a running club to kickstart your day with an outdoor activity that guests can join. What a better way to get to know the lovely city?!? And if that is not enough there is also an option to rent a bike for an extra charge.
In addition, every afternoon the hotel’s guests are invited to Cozy Hour in the lobby for refreshments and often Jazz performances.
TO CONCLUDE
The hotel provides a cozy escape from the city while also being located at the heart of the town. From the moment you step in to the lobby you feel like home; with a fireplace, cozy sofas, pillows and shelves with books. Its beautiful courtyard is what makes the hotel stands out from the others, allowing guests to relax, socialise and sit outdoors.
Hotel Kong Arthur is suitable to all kind of guests; Whether you’re in a couple, with friends, family or a business traveler. I totally recommend staying at Hotel Kong Arthur while in Copenhagen.
