2016 has already come to an end and I’m already at the midst of planning new adventures for 2017.
For me, 2016 has been a year full traveling to places I never been before, expat problems, expat adventures, visiting my home country and the year that I’ve been graduating from my abroad MA degree.
To celebrate the past year, I decided to put together a recap.
My favourite destinations of 2016 that I was lucky enough to visit:
1) London, UK
In 2016, not only have I visited London, but I also moved to London (and still am living in London). This city has a special place in my heart for being an incredible fast-pace city with a European twist. Thanks to my stay in London, my blog became all about London’s recommendations: the hottest bars, restaurants, luxury places and neighbhordoos. I believe London needs no further convicing as to why it has made it to the list.
2) Iceland
I previously wrote a post about “why I loved & hated Iceland”. Despite of my dislikes, Iceland is definitely making it to the list because the reasons why I “hated” it are exactly what make Iceland so special. It’s a destination for the adventurous, for those who love the unknown, for those who crave the unusual, and for those who know how to embrace the weather conditions. So yes, I went to chase the Northern Lights and didn’t got to see it, but I did get to see other amazing natural phenomena such as the Geysers, the Blue Lagoon and Gullfoss waterfall.

3) Edinburgh, Scotland
This was the destination that I chose to go to on my birthday after hearing so many great things about it. Guess what? It was all true, as Edinburgh soon became my favourite U.K destination (after my beloved London, of course!). What I loved the most about Edinburgh was the breathtaking views and the medieval town with the old castle that is overlooking the city.
4) Dublin, Ireland
First thing that comes to mind when thinking about Dublin, is beer! Well, the city definitely lives up to its reputation with the party atmosphere at the Temple Bar quarter, where my Airbnb apartment was located. Apart from being a beer town, Dublin is also a lovely city in itself. Points of interests include St Patrick’s Cathedral, Dublin Castle and Trinity College. Especially, I would recommend going to Howth, a village at the outskirts of Dublin, for gorgeous cliff views.
5) Caesarea, Israel
The Old Port of Caesarea is one of my favourite and most-romantic places in Israel (and that’s coming from an Israeli girl). From a beautiful beach to breathaking views and ancient Roman ruins- The Old Port is a unique travel destination. Visitors can walk along the beach, enjoy a selection of restaurants with sea view, and
have the educational experience of learning about the story of ancient Israel.
Which one of these destinations you would like to visit the most?
